LPA off Catanduanes likely to develop into tropical depression in 48 hours

(Eagle News)–The low pressure area spotted off Catanduanes is likely to develop into a tropical depression within 48 hours.

The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said Tropical Depression “Ramon” may affect the coastal and inland areas in the eastern sections of Luzon and Visayas during the middle and later part of this week.

Within the next 24 hours, though, the trough of this LPA, which is located 1005 kilometers east of Virac, will bring cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms over Bicol Region, Visayas, Caraga, Northern Mindanao, Davao Region, Quezon, Mindoro Provinces, Marinduque, and Romblon.

“The public and disaster risk reduction and management offices concerned are advised to take appropriate actions and continue monitoring for updates, especially the thunderstorm/rainfall advisories and heavy rainfall warnings from PAGASA regional services divisions,” PAGASA said.
