LPA off Calayan, Cagayan develops into Tropical Depression “Kabayan”

Another LPA east of Surigao del Sur forecast to develop into TD “Liwayway” in next 48 hours

(Eagle News)–The low pressure area west of Calayan, Cagayan has developed into a tropical depression.

The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said “Kabayan,” which is located 310 kilometers west of Calayan and is expected to exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility this morning, will intensify into a Tropical Storm while moving westward towards the southern China – northern Vietnam area once outside.

As of 4 a.m., another  LPA estimated at 515 kilometers east of Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur, is forecast to develop into Tropical Depression “Liwayway” within 48 hours, PAGASA said.

Scattered light to moderate rains with at times heavy rain showers may be experienced over Ilocos Region, Zambales, Bataan, Metro Manila, CALABARZON, MIMAROPA and Western Visayas due to the southwest monsoon.

Sea travel, PAGASA said, is not advised for small seacrafts over the northern and western seaboards of Northern Luzon and the western seaboard of Central Luzon due to “potentially rough sea conditions.”
