LPA in Tarlac expected to merge with Tropical Depression “Nimfa” within 48 hours

(Eagle News)–The low pressure area in the vicinity of Tarlac is expected to merge with the trough of Tropical Depression “Nimfa” within 48 hours.

The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said as of 10 a.m., the LPA over Central Luzon was estimated in the vicinity of Mayantoc.

“Nimfa,” on the other hand, it said, was located 685 kilometers east of Basco, Batanes, packing maximum sustained winds of up to 55 kilometers per hour near the center and gustiness of up to 70 kph.

It is almost stationary.

Between today and tomorrow morning, PAGASA said frequent light to moderate with occasional heavy rains will be experienced over Pangasinan, Zambales, Bataan, Occidental Mindoro, Romblon, northern portions of Palawan including Calamian and Cuyo Islands, Aklan, Antique, Iloilo and Guimaras.

Occasional light to moderate rains with intermittent heavy rainshowers during thunderstorms, on the other hand, will affect Metro Manila, CALABARZON, Batanes, Cagayan including Babuyan Islands, Ilocos Norte, Apayao, and the rest of Central Luzon and MIMAROPA.

Scattered rains and isolated thunderstorms are expected over the rest of Luzon and Western Visayas..

Sea travel is risky, especially for small seacraft, over the northern and eastern seaboards of Northern Luzon due to “potentially rough to very rough sea conditions.”

Most of the other seaboards of the country will have moderate to rough conditions.
