LP on sedition raps vs Robredo, others: “Gawa-gawa, kasinungalingan, walang basehan”

(Eagle News)–“Gawa-gawa, kasinungalingan, at walang basehan.”

This was how Liberal Party president Kiko Pangilinan described the raps filed against Vice President Leni Robredo and several others over the “Ang Totoong Narco-list” videos against President Rodrigo Duterte and his family.

In a statement, Pangilinan said “ginagawa ito ng mga kalaban ng demokrasya..”

He said this was because “si VP na lang ang nakaharang sa kanilang hangarin na ituloy ang patayan sa huwad na war on drugs nang walang nananagot, ang pagbenta ng Pilipinas sa China, at ang panghabambuhay na paghahari-harian nila sa bansa.”

Robredo is chair of the Liberal Party.

“Political harassment at persecution ang ginawang pagsampa ng kaso ng sedition, inciting to sedition, at kung anu-ano pa kina Vice President Leni Robredo at sa ating mga kaalyado sa Senado at sa mga kandidato natin sa Otso Diretso, at maging sa mga sumuporta sa ating mga taong-simbahan,” Pangilinan said.

Among others charged with sedition, libel, cyber libel, harboring a criminal, estafa and obstruction of justice  were Bam Aquino, Leila de Lima, Gary Alejano and Romulo Macalintal.

The Philippine National Police-Criminal Investigation and Detection Group used as basis the affidavit of Peter Joemel Advincula to file the charges before the Department of Justice.

Advincula has claimed to be the yellow-hooded character “Bikoy” in the videos that accused Duterte’s family of being engaged in the illegal drug trade.

He initially stood by the allegations he made in the video but later admitted they were lies he was forced to peddle upon instructions by the opposition under project Sodoma.
