Lacson says Robredo should be given list of high-value targets in drug war

(Eagle News)–Vice President Leni Robredo should be given a list of high-value targets in the drug war, Senator Panfilo Lacson said on Tuesday, Nov. 19.

In an interview over CNN Philippines, Lacson said the list of HVTs, after all, was “basic information.”

“Kung hindi niya alam ang nasa HVT list, how could she proceed in the first place?” he said.

He said it was “valid” for members of the Inter-Agency Committee Against Illegal Drugs to be apprehensive about sharing information with Robredo, as she was a member of the opposition.

“Kaya mabuti rin there’s a reminder from the President himself na she could be fired. And I think that’s a fair reminder, but of course that should be qualified by the fact that the VP should know how to handle classified information,” he said.

On Monday, Robredo, who was recently appointed ICAD co-chair, gave the assurance  no sensitive information would be disclosed.

This was after President Rodrigo Duterte threatened to fire her if she disclosed state secrets.
