Lacson: At least four Chinese drug lords released from NBP prior to reports on possible release of Antonio Sanchez

(Eagle News)–At least four Chinese drug lords were released from the New Bilibid Prison even before reports on the possible release of former Calauan, Laguna Mayor Antonio Sanchez came out, Senator Panfilo Lacson said.

It was unclear, however, if the four identified as Chan Chit Yue, Kin San Ho,  Ching Che and Wu Hing Sum,  were released based on Republic Act No. 10592, or the law on Good Conduct Time Allowances.

According to Lacson, the Chinese convicts who were committed in Building 14 of the maximum security compound  were released to the custody of the Bureau of Immigration for “possible deportation.”

“But these are convicted Chinese drug lords..,” he said.

According to Lacson, he also received information the Bureau of Corrections list of inmates who were supposed to be released–supposedly together with Sanchez— on Aug. 20 was already missing.

Justice Secretary Menardo Guevarra said according to Bureau of Corrections director Nicanor Faeldon, he did not sign any release order for Sanchez.

“(But) we take the word of the members of the family there was a release order issued as of Aug. 20. Sabi nila nakapag-fingerprint na si Mayor Sanchez, and by his own admission, sinabi ni Director Faeldon na 11,000 ang nakaline up na irerelease,” Lacson said.

“That’s why maybe it’s subliminal or malicious or mischievous kaya ko naisip na baka parang container per container, P5,000 or P10,000, baka per released convict baka may corresponding amount,” Lacson added.

Guevarra, however, refrained from commenting on Lacson’s remark, saying he would do so “once we have established the facts.”

The Senate committee on justice is slated to hold a hearing on the matter next week.  Meanne Corvera
