(Eagle News)–Typhoon “Kammuri” has slightly slowed down as it approached the Philippine Area of Responsibility on Saturday, Nov. 30.
The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said “Kammuri,” which has maintained its strength, was so far located 1,220 kilometers east of Southern Luzon, and is expected to enter PAR between today and tomorrow.
“Kammuri,” which will be called “Tisoy” once it enters PAR, is packing maximum sustained winds of 150 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 185 kph.
It is moving west southwest at 15 kph, and is expected to further intensify before it makes landfall.
Once the typhoon enters PAR, Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal #1 may be raised over Northern and Eastern Samar.
The weather disturbance may bring moderate to heavy rains and thunderstorms starting Monday over Bicol Region and Samar provinces.
PAGASA said most of the areas in Central Luzon, Southern Luzon, and Metro Manila will experience strong winds and heavy rains on Tuesday and Wednesday.
