Sandiganbayan releases warrant of arrest vs Imelda Marcos

(Eagle News)– The Sandiganbayan has released a warrant of arrest against former First Lady Imelda Marcos.

The Fifth Division issued the same following Marcos’ “unjustified” absence during the promulgation of her case related to the creation of organizations in Switzerland while she was in government on Friday, Nov. 9.

During the promulgation, the anti-graft court found Marcos guilty of seven counts of graft.

According to the division, “the bonds posted by the accused in the cases where she was convicted are ordered forfeited..”

It said the accused was also “given 30 days from today (Nov. 9) to explain why no judgement on the bonds should be issued.”
