JUST IN: Robredo on Advincula: “He’s a liar”

(Eagle News)–“He’s a liar.”

Vice President Leni Robredo had this to say of Peter Joemel Advincula after he accused  the Liberal Party, which she chairs,of being behind the “Bikoy” videos against President Rodrigo Duterte, members of his family and his allies.

According to Robredo, in the first place, he never personally met Advincula and only found out about him when he held a press conference at the Integrated Bar of the Philippines.

She said there has never been an Otso Diretso meeting at Ateneo, as claimed by Advincula, as party  meetings were usually held in their headquarters or in the Office of the Vice President.

“Pag sinabi niyang nagkita kami, talagang sinungaling siya,” Robredo said.

“I can speak for the party. Wala kaming kinalaman sa Bikoy issue,” she said.

According to Robredo, Senator Antonio Trillanes, whom Advincula accused of being behind the videos as well, was not a member of  LP.

She said she only met the Magdalo member “a few” times in her office during the campaign  but not to discuss any destabilization plot.

“Nagpresent lang siya ng internal survey ng Magdalo na magagamit sa pagstrategize,” Robredo said.

She said she would “never be part of a destabilization plot” as she believes the presidency was a “destiny.”

She said it was a “waste of time” to make plans to oust the administration, noting that this was also a “subversion of the will of the people.”

“Kung ito ay harassment para lalong yurakan, apakan ang LP… hindi ito magiging dahilan para magpatinag tayo, tumigil tayo sa pagpupuna kung may kailangang punahin,” she added.

In a press conference on Thursday, May 23, Advincula said the Bikoy videos were part of Oplan Sodoma that was aimed at ousting President Duterte from office.

With Duterte out, Advincula said Robredo, by operation of the Constitution, would serve as President of the country, while Trillanes, whose term as senator will  end in June, would be installed as vice president.
