JUST IN: QC suspends afternoon, evening classes from preschool to high school on Thursday, July 18

(Eagle News)–Mayor Joy Belmonte has suspended afternoon and evening classes on Thursday, July 18, in Quezon City.

In a Tweet, Belmonte said the suspension applies to preschool, elementary and high school levels for both public and private schools.

She said the suspension was upon the recommendation of the Quezon City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council following the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration’s latest forecast persistent occurrence of localized thunderstorms, monsoon rains, strong winds were expected this afternoon until evening.

Belmonte said college and university suspensions were at the discretion of their respective administrations.

Tropical Storm “Falcon” is expected to leave the Philippine Area of Responsibility this evening.
