(Eagle News)–President Rodrigo Duterte has named former Davao City administrator Wendel Avisado as the new Department of Budget and Management secretary.
Avisado takes the place of Janet Abuel, who had been named officer-in-charge of the department after then-Budget Secretary Ben Diokno was named governor of the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas.
Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea said Avisado will take the helm of the DBM in an acting capacity.
Avisado, lawyer, was the city administrator from 2004 to 2010 when Duterte was Davao mayor.
He also served as Presidential Assistant for Yolanda Rehabilitation.
