(Eagle News)–An Ateneo de Manila University law graduate has topped the 2018 bar exams.
Sean James Borja got an 89.0306 percent, based on the results released by the Supreme Court.
He was followed by Marcley Augustus Natu-El of the University of San Carlos with a rating of 87.53 percent; and then by Mark Lawrence Badayon also of USC with 85.842 percent.
Daniel John Fordan also of ADMU ranked fourth with an 85.443 percent; Katrina Monica Gaw also of ADMU was fifth with 85.41 percent; Nadaine Tongco of the University of the Philippines was sixth with 85.032 percent; and Patricia Sevilla also of UP was seventh with 84.859 percent.
In eighth place was Kathrine Ting of Dela Salle University Manila with 84.857 percent; in ninth Jebb Lynus Cane also of USC with 84.806 percent; and in tenth Alen Joel Pita, also of USC with 84.693 percent.
The SC said of the 8158 examinees, 1800 passed.
This translates to a passing rate of 22.07 percent, lower than the 25.5 percent registered in 2017.
The SC said the total number of 2018 bar examinees was the highest so far in the history of the exams.
