(Eagle News) — Actor Cogie Domingo and two others were arrested in an anti-drug operation early Friday.
The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency said their operatives from the intelligence section of region IV-A and the Laguna Provincial Office nabbed Domingo while buying illegal drugs in BF Homes, Parañaque.
The PDEA identified the two others who were arrested as Almira Bautista (and not Domingo’s wife as earlier reported) and Francisco Lim.
A PDEA report said confiscated from Domingo was a sachet containing suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride and drug paraphernalia inside a black plastic case.
Two sachets containing suspected illegal drugs were seized from Bautista and Lim.
The anti-drug agency said they had long been monitoring Domingo to “validate” information he was engaged in illegal drug activities, and found he frequented the Las Piñas and Parañaque areas to buy the illegal substance.
In an interview with reporters, Domingo denied the allegations against him.
“Hindi ko po alam ano ibinibintang nila sa akin. Hindi ko alam anong ebidensiya nila. Nagulat nalang po ako noong nagkahulihan na doon,” he said.
He admitted to using drugs before but noted that this was something he quit a long time ago.
