(Eagle News)–A 5.6-magnitude earthquake struck Davao Occidental on Thursday, Dec. 5.
The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, of tectonic origin, hit 169 kilometers southeast of Jose Abad Santos at 8:24 p.m.
Depth of focus was 54 kilometers.
The following intensities and instrumental intensities were recorded:

Intensity II – General Santos City; Koronadal City and Tampakan, South Cotabato
Instrumental Intensities:
Intensity IV – Malungon, Sarangani
Intensty II – General Santos City; Tupi, South Cotabato; Kiamba, Sarangani
Intensity I – Gingoog City
No damage to property was expected but aftershocks are.
