Joint Senate panel expected to reveal names of ninja cops

(Eagle News)–The names of the policemen who allegedly sell recycled illegal drugs are expected to be revealed in today’s hearing of the joint Senate panel initially looking into the Good Conduct Time Allowance law.

This was after President Rodrigo Duterte did not reveal their names in his recent public speeches even after Senator Bong Go  said he would do so.

Earlier, the Senate gave the approval for the names, which were bared by former Criminal Investigation and Detection Group chief Benjamin Magalong in an executive session, to be bared.

There are rumors included in the names released by Magalong was Philippine National Police Chief Oscar Albayalde, who was relieved in 2014 as Pampanga police provincial director  after some of his men were found to have been engaged in illegal drug activities.

The National Capital Region Police Office has said 16 policemen who were no longer in active service were engaged in the recycling of illegal drugs, with Guia Gomez Castro as the alleged buyer.

The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency has said over 50, some of them in active service, were engaged in illegal drugs recycling.

The Department of Justice has issued an immigration lookout bulletin order against Castro, who was confirmed to have left for Bangkok, Thailand via a Cebu Pacific flight.

The police has said they would continue their case buildup against Castro.
