QUEZON City, Philippines (Eagle News) — Middleman of online gambling tycoon Jack Lam, Retired Police Sr. Supt. Wally Sombero is ready to appear in front of the Senate in relation to the bribery scandal in the Bureau of Immigration.
“Our client is willing to appear and cooperate in the investigation. However, he has received threats to his life if he appears in the committee hearing,” Ted Contacto, Sombero’s lawyer said in a letter addressed to Senator Richard Gordon, chairman of the committee.
Sombero made his intentions known through a letter written by his counsel, wherein he stated that he is ready to fully disclose the truth on the matter.
“It is for this reason that we are requesting for your assistance to provide our client with security to ensure his safety traveling to and from the Senate grounds,” Contacto added.
