ITCZ affecting Visayas and Mindanao: PAGASA

Western section of Luzon also affected by southwest monsoon

(Eagle News) — The Intertropical Convergence Zone is affecting Visayas and Mindanao.

The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said the southwest monsoon is also affecting the western section of Luzon.

As a result, cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms will be experienced over Northern Samar, Romblon and Masbate.

In Northern Luzon, the same conditions are expected over Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, La Union, Pangasinan, Batanes, Cagayan, and Apayao due to the southwest monsoon.

Mindanao, for its part, will have cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms due to the ITCZ.

Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers  will prevail over the rest of Bicol Region, Oriental Mindoro, and Marinduque, while the same conditions are expected over the provinces of Isabela, Quirino, Nueva Vizcaya, Benguet, Kalinga, Mountain Province, Ifugao, Abra, and Aurora, this time due to localized thunderstorms.

Light to moderate winds and slight to moderate coastal waters will prevail over the country.
