(Eagle News)–Some residents from Isla Puting Bato arrived in droves at the Delpan evacuation center in Tondo after they were forcibly evacuated by the local government as rains and winds due to “Tisoy” battered the area.

“Ang una po nating inilikas ay ang mga bata, babae, senior citizen at PWD,” Arnel Angeles, Manila Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office chief said.

Many of the men, however, stayed behind to watch over their possessions.

At the evacuation center, residents were given porridge and soup.

There is also a registration area to keep track of the families in the evacuation center.

The MDRRMO and the Manila Social Welfare Department will provide the evacuees with relief goods, the local government said.

Over 2000 families live in Isla Puting Bato, which is near a water body.

Earlier, Mayor Isko Moreno ordered the preemptive evacuation of Isla Puting Bato and the following barangays:

Baseco Compound

Barangay 275

Barangay 105

Happyland in Tondo

Barangay 101
