(Eagle News)–Manila Mayor Isko Moreno has ordered the relief of a police precinct commander after he saw Carriedo dirty and filled with stalls.
“Wala nang daan. Eh paano pati sa gitna ng kalye basura, vendor,” he added in a livestreamed video of him as he visited the area early Wednesday, July 25.
Moreno’s move comes as he embarked on a cleanup of key sites of Manila, which he vowed to restore to its former glory.
Netizens have praised the mayor for his efforts and lauded the results, with pictures of a cleared and clean Divisoria and the Lagusnilad underpass, among others, making the rounds on social media.
He also recently fired a city traffic enforcer who was caught extorting money in footage from a closed-circuit television camera.
