Immigration bureau: Proof of pre-booked accommodation for quarantine required for entry into PHL

(Eagle News) — All passengers will have to undergo a 14-day quarantine upon arrival in the country, the Bureau of Immigration said, as it reiterated it would deny entry to foreign nationals unable to present pre-booked accommodation for that purpose.

According to the bureau, of the 14 days, 10 days will have to be spent in an accredited quarantine hotel or facility.

The remaining four days can be spent in the passenger’s hometown, subject to the local government unit’s supervision.

All arriving foreign nationals except for 9(e) visa holders, then, should present that pre-booked accommodation for at least ten nights, the bureau said.

Even if they are allowed to enter the country, the bureau said foreign nationals who fail to present the same shall be boarded immediately in the next available flight.

All foreign nationals who were cleared for entry but were subsequently found to have faked their pre-booked accommodation, the bureau said, will referred for deportation proceedings.

“The foregoing is without prejudice to the exercise of the mandate of the (bureau) in arrival and departure formalities,” the bureau said.

So far, foreigners allowed entry into the Philippines under previous Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases prior to the implementation of the March 22 travel ban are again allowed to enter the country.

The travel ban on passengers from India, Pakistan, Nepal, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh, however, is in effect until May 14.
