“Hanna” intensifies into tropical storm

(Eagle News)–Tropical Depression “Hanna” has intensified into a tropical storm.

In its recent advisory, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said as of 3 p.m., the center of the tropical storm was located 1090 kilometers east of Tuguegarao.

Hanna is packing maximum sustained winds of 65 kilometers per hour, and gustiness of 85 kph.

It is moving north at 15 kph.

This was apart from the southwest monsoon, which affects Luzon and Visayas.

Moderate to occasionally heavy rains are expected in Calabarzon and Mimaropa, PAGASA said.

Residents in mountain slopes and low-lying areas near select water systems are advised against possible flash floods and landslides.
