Guevarra: Palace offering P10 million for arrest of Acierto

(Eagle News)–The Palace is offering a P10-million bounty for the arrest of dismissed Col. Eduardo Acierto, who has been ordered arrested by a court due to drug smuggling.

Justice Secretary Menardo Guevarra said however that he was not privy about where the bounty would be sourced.

“The amount is certainly much larger than what the DOJ could offer,” he said.

For instance, he said the DOJ  offered only P500,000 for the arrest of Peter Go Lim, who has been charged with drug conspiracy.

Apart from Acierto, a Manila court has issued a warrant of arrest and a hold departure order against Chan Yee Wah alias KC Chan, Zhou Quan alias Zhang Quan, Vedasto Cabral Baraquel Jr., Maria Lagrimas Catipan, and Emily Luquingan, dismissed Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency deputy chief Ismael Fajardo, and resigned customs intelligence officer Jimmy Guban—for alleged importation of drugs concealed in magnetic lifters seized last year.
