Guevarra assures public of “utmost fairness” in resolution of sedition complaint vs Robredo, others

(Eagle News)–Justice Secretary Menardo Guevarra on Friday, July 26, assured the public of “utmost fairness” in the resolution of the sedition complaint filed against Vice President Leni Robredo and several others.

“The evidence, or the lack of it, will speak for itself,” Guevarra said.

According to Guevarra, “in the ordinary course of things, the complaint shall be dismissed as to those respondents against whom no evidence is presented..”

“…while those against whom sufficient evidence is presented shall accordingly be indicted,” he said.

“Let’s wait until this process is completed,” he added.

On Friday, July 26, Team Pilipinas, a group of Robredo supporters, asked Guevarra to junk the complaint filed against the vice president in connection with the Ang Totoong Narcolist videos.

The group said the allegations which came from a “questionable witness” were “baseless.”

The group was referring to Peter Joemel Advincula, who claimed to be the yellow-hooded character in the videos and who accused President Rodrigo Duterte’s family of engaging in illegal drug activities.

Advincula later said the allegations he made were mere “lies” which the opposition had asked him to peddle under Project Sodoma.
