(Eagle News)–Justice Secretary Menardo Guevarra on Wednesday, May 8, said Peter Joemel Advincula could face charges for inciting to sedition if he does not file charges against those he implicated in the drug trade, including members of President Rodrigo Duterte’s family, with supporting evidence.
“The NBI is waiting for Advincula/Bikoy to show up and submit his complaint with supporting evidence against the persons he implicated in the illegal drug trade,” Guevarra said.
According to Guevarra, while he does not want to pre-empt investigators, “let’s just say that it’s (his inclusion in an inciting to sedition complaint) a real possibility.”
He was referring to the complaint filed against Rodel Jayme, the alleged administrator of the Metro Balita website where the Ang Totoo Narcolist videos were uploaded.
Guevarra also warned those who are “coddling and protecting (Advincula) despite his admissions.”
“They may face criminal liability as well,” Guevarra said.
On Monday, May 6, Advincula, who claimed he was the “Bikoy” in the Ang Totoong Narcolist videos, stood by his allegations against the President’s family and others.
The Integrated Bar of the Philippines has however said Advincula’s statements had not been validated.
The Senate has also cancelled a hearing to probe Advincula’s allegations.
Senate President Tito Sotto said Advincula had also leveled drug accusations against former President Benigno Aquino III, former executive Secretary Paquito Ochoa, former Interior Secretary Mar Roxas, and Senator Leila de Lima.
