Group urges Comelec to disqualify Cardema as Duterte Youth rep

(Eagle News)–A group on Monday, June 17, asked the Commission on Elections to disqualify Ronald Cardema as representative of Duterte Youth Party-list.

In arguing for Cardema’s disqualification, Millenials’ PH, which is backed by poll lawyers Sixto Brillantes and Emil Marañon III, said he was overaged.

The partylist law says qualified youth representatives are aged 25 to 30.

Cardema is 34 years old.

The Commission on Elections had allowed Cardema to substitute for his wife Duciella, then the partylist’s first nominee.

This was, however, without prejudice to the pending petitions opposing Cardema’s substitution.
