Gov’t should be careful when asking for help from rebel groups, says former AFP chief Biazon

QUEZON City, Philippines (Eagle News) — Former Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces of the Philippines Rodolfo Biazon asked President Rodrigo Duterte to be careful when asking for help from rebel groups.

Biazon made the statement after Duterte urged members of the Moro Islamic Liberation Front, the Moro National Liberation Front and the Communist Party of the Philippines to help the government in its fight against Maute.

Biazon said that there would be legal confusion if such groups help in the offensive as it is not clear what laws would govern their actions.
