Gordon wants lifestyle check on Albayalde, 13 policemen behind 2013 Pampanga raid

(Eagle News)–Senator Richard Gordon has  called for a lifestyle check on Philippine National Police Chief Oscar Albayalde, after he was accused of intervening in the cases filed against 13 policemen who were found to have conducted an irregular drug raid in Pampanga in 2013.

In a radio interview, Gordon said he also wants the 13 policemen led by then-Col. Rodney Baloyo subjected to the lifestyle check.

Baloyo and his group were ordered dismissed in 2014 over the raid but the dismissal order was never implemented.

During a joint Senate panel hearing on the Good Conduct Time Allowance law and which has since expanded its probe to include the issue of ninja cops, Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Chief Aaron Aquino said Albayalde called him sometime in 2016 to urge him not to implement the dismissal order against Baloyo’s group as Central Luzon regional police director.

The 13 were Albayalde’s men when he was Pampanga police director.

President Rodrigo Duterte has said he would wait for the Senate to finish its probe before taking action.
