Go: Duterte back pain only due to “muscle spasms”

(Eagle News)–President Rodrigo Duterte’s back pain was merely due to “muscle spasms,” Senator Bong Go said on Wednesday, Oct. 22.

Go, who worked for the President for a long time until he was elected, said this was according to the President’s long-time neurosurgeons, whom Duterte consulted after going to former Senate President Nene Pimentel’s wake on Tuesday night.

Go said the President had  a magnetic resonance imaging done “….at wala naman pong nakitang dapat ikabahala.”

He said the President, however, was advised to take a rest and was given medication.

“Ang ikinabahala namin at first kung tinamaan ang kanyang spine pero salamat sa Panginoon walang dapat ikabahala. Tinignan ng doktor kung meron bang naipit na ugat that caused the pain, wala naman po. Pure muscles spasm at ang gamot para dun,” Go said.

He said the President would proceed with his original schedule, including an appearance at the Association of Southeast Asian Nations Summit from November 2 to 4.

Duterte had to cut short his Japan trip due to “unbearable pain” in the spine near the pelvic bone.

This took place days after the Palace admitted the President had a motorcycle accident in the Presidential Security Compound.

The Palace said however that Duterte only sustained minor injuries.

Go had said Duterte had complained of a sore hip.
