(Eagle News)–Gazini Ganados bowed out of this year’s Miss Universe early, after failing to make it to the top ten.
During the question and answer portion to the 20 semifinalists, Ganados explained her advocacy for elderly care:
“The world is aging and my grandparents raised me and I’ve worked in an organization that was supporting for elderly care. I learned then, I realized that there’s this stigma between ageism, poverty, exclusivity and invisibility. It is the rightful for us that they are the ones who paved the way for us and we should reciprocate that love and no one should be left behind,” she said.
The following were the candidates who made it to the Top Ten:
USA
Colombia
Puerto Rico
South Africa
Peru
Iceland
France
Indonesia
Thailand
Mexico
The Philippines’ Catriona Gray was hailed as Miss Universe last year.
