(Eagle News)–For Senator Sherwin Gatchalian, Philippine Ambassador to Japan Jose Laurel V should be fired.
“This guy should be fired!Instead of supporting our Cabinet officials in securing projects for the benefit of people, he is spreading lies and intrigues,” Gatchalian said.
“This is arrogance at its best,” the senator added.
Gatchalian issued the statement after Laurel said he believes the 16 Cabinet officials’ trip to Japan with President Rodrigo Duterte was a “reward” for the results of the midterm polls that were overwhelmingly favorable toward the administration.
Presidential Spokesperson Salvador Panelo denied this, saying the presence of the officials in the President’s working visit was “necessary.”
Transportation Secretary Art Tugade, who was among those included in the President’s delegation, slammed the claims.
He said he has so far been attending meetings left and right to push for the country’s infrastructure projects.
“Malaking katarantadu**n yan…Kung bakasyon ito, hindi ko na alam ano ibig sabihin ng trabaho,” he said. With a report from Meanne Corvera
