Gamboa on proposed lifestyle check on him, 2 other PNP chief contenders: It’s up to President Duterte to decide

(Eagle News)–The decision on whether or not the three contenders for the Philippine National Police post should undergo a lifestyle check is for President Rodrigo Duterte to make.

This is according to Lt. Gen. Archie Gamboa, who was appointed officer in charge of the police force after Oscar Albayalde stepped down over the ninja cops mess.

Gamboa was also among the three shortlisted by Interior Secretary Eduardo Año for the PNP chief post.

The other two were Lt. Gen. Camilo Cascolan and Maj. Gen. Guillermo Eleazar, who was National Capital Region Police Office director until he was promoted as the PNP’s top four man.

Only recently, the PNP undertook yet another major reshuffle, with Gamboa saying all PNP officials would be on probationary status starting Monday, Oct. 21.

“Remember there’s a vetting process  which is being undertaken by the Office of the President,” he said.
