Galvez: “Safe conduct passes” of NDFP consultants considered “revoked” following official termination of peace talks

(Eagle News)—National Democratic Front of the Philippines consultants can now be arrested, government peace adviser Carlito Galvez Jr. said.

In a statement, Galvez said this was because the  safe conduct pass which was granted to them  to “create an enabling environment before the formal peace talks” was “automatically revoked” with President Rodrigo Duterte’s official termination of the peace talks with the group and the dissolution of the negotiating panels.”

He said as a result, the warrants of arrest against the consultants were now “active.”

“The safe conduct pass is being issued to allow the movement of NDFP Consultants and as a goodwill of freeing the arrested top-level CPP NPA cadres,” he explained.
