Free WiFi launched in EDSA on Independence Day

Eagle  News — Telecommunication giants Globe Telecommunications Company, Smart Communications and PLDT Inc., launched on Monday, June 12, the free WiFI connection, project along the 23.8 kilometer Epifanio de los Santos Avenue or EDSA.

The project was launched in coordination with the Department of Information and Communication Technology (DICT) along the stretch of EDSA that traverses Caloocan, Quezon City, San Juan, Pasay, Mandaluyong and Makati.

According to Smart and Globe, the free WiFi can be used for the first 30 minutes of use, after which users would be advised that they would have to pay for the succeeding data usage.

The project was launched in response to the call of President Rodrigo Duterte to improve the quality of internet service in the country.
