Former Magdalo soldiers, appointed to BOC

(Eagle News) — Some of the members of the Magdalo Group who orchestrated the Oakwood Mutiny were given positions in the Bureau of Customs by Customs Commissioner Nicanor Faeldon.

This includes former Army Captain Gerardo Gambala as Deputy Commissioner of Management Information System and Technology Group, former Navy Lieutenant James Layug as Director III of the Port Operations Service, and former Army Captain Nilo Maestracampo as Director III of the Import Assessment Service. The three – together with Faeldon himself – were formerly part of the Magdalo Group that conducted the mutiny in Oakwood Hotel in July 2003.
