Former CIDG official probing 2013 Pampanga raid: Albayalde called me and said “onti lang naman napunta sa akin diyan”

(Eagle News)–“Onti lang naman napunta sa akin diyan.”

This was what then-Brigadier General Rudy Lacadin said Oscar Albayalde, then the  Pampanga provincial director, told him during a phone call sometime after the irregular raid in Mexico, Pampanga.

Lacadin, who was then the deputy director of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group, said Albayalde called him after learning he had been tasked by then-CIDG chief Benjamin Magalong to conduct a probe into the raid led by then-Major Rodney Baloyo.

“As a friend it pains me to give statements ..There was a time during the investigation, I remember he was I think PD of Pampanga, he called me ho, and ..ang naalala ko, ‘Sir, naimbestigahan niyo daw kami.’ Sabi ko, ‘Yes, Oca. I did not inform you..but if you have nothing to hide wala ka naman dapat katakutan.’ I didn’t know if jokingly he said, ‘Actually, sir, onti lang naman napunta sa akin dyan,” Lacadin said.

According to Lacadin, phone records would show that Albayalde did call him during that time.

But  Albayalde objected, saying what transpired was “very unlikely” since he and Lacadin “never had a chance of heading one office.”

“I really don’t know ano conspiracy dito. They’re ganging up on me,” he said.

“Kung sabihin mong sinabi ko sa iyo yun, why was I not charged. Tatlo na ang naginvestigate?” Albayalde asked.

He also questioned the timing of the supposed revelation.

“Why after six years? Why didn’t this come out during the conduct of investigation?” Albayalde asked.
