Five suspects in twin blasts in Sulu charged in Jolo court

(Eagle News) — Multiple murder and frustrated murder cases were filed against five suspects in the Jolo, Sulu blasts that killed at least 23 others and injured several others.

Justice Undersecretary Markk Perete said the  cases against Mukammar L. Pay alias Kammah, Albaji K. Gadjali alias Apah, Radjan B. Gadjali, Kaiser Gadjali and Said Alih were filed before the Jolo Regional Trial Court, after the Sulu Prosecutors’ Office found probable cause for the same.

The cases were filed by acting Sulu provincial prosecutor Rommel Cancio.

The five surrendered to authorities over the weekend.

Interior Secretary Eduardo Año has said the suicide bombings at the Our Lady of Mount Carmel Cathedral were carried out by an Indonesian couple assisted by local terrorists.

Several other suspects remain at large.
