(Eagle News)–The violations committed by former Calauan, Laguna Mayor Antonio Sanchez were not reflected in his file folder at the Bureau of Corrections.
This was acknowledged by BuCor Chief Nicanor Faeldon, when he faced senators on the second hearing into the Good Conduct Time Allowance law.
Faeldon made the admission under questioning by Senate Minority Leader Franklin Drilon, who had noted Sanchez had kept an airconditioned “kubol” in the New Bilibid Prison, which is prohibited.
Media reports also said Sanchez had been caught hiding illegal drugs while committed.
When asked, Faeldon admitted the file was used as a basis for the approval of a memorandum for release for Sanchez, which would jump-start the process for his release.
‘Did you not see the violations yourself?’ Drilon asked, noting that there was either negligence or a deliberate move not to include such violations in the file.
