Duterte warns POGOs: Register within three days with BIR and pay taxes, or else

(Eagle News)–Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators have three days to register with the Bureau of Internal Revenue and pay taxes.

President Rodrigo Duterte himself announced this in an exclusive interview with CNN Philippines, after the BIR said only 10 out of 60 POGOs in the country pay taxes.

“I’m giving you three days to- bayaran niyo ang mga utang ninyo kayong mga POGO, barilin ko kayo ng de-bomba,” Duterte said.

Since the start of the government’s crackdown in September, the  BIR has closed down three POGO service providers.

The bureau has also collected at least P1.2 billion in corporate taxes so far.
