Duterte to sack “many” officials before he leaves for China

(Eagle News)–President Rodrigo Duterte on Thursday, April 11, said he would fire “many” officials before he leaves for China.

Duterte made the revelation in a speech in a campaign sortie in Bacolod.

The President did not give names but said he would do the firing next week.

“Ngayon ‘pag ikaw nasa corruption, alis ka,” he said.

Duterte is slated to attend the second Belt and Road forum from April 26 to 27.

He has been vocal against corruption and has fired government officials who have been accused of this and of resorting to excessive travels.

Among those he has fired were then-Interior Secretary Ismael Sueno, then-Budget Undersecretary Gertrudo de Leon, and then-Presidential Commission of the Urban Poor Terry Ridon.
