Duterte to meet with PhilHealth officials following “ghost dialysis” mess

(Eagle News)–President Rodrigo Duterte will meet with executives of the Philippine Health Insurance Corp. following reports a medical center in Quezon City was processing medical benefits of deceased patients.

Presidential Spokesperson Salvador Panelo said the officials were  expected to submit a detailed report on the supposed claims by Wellmed Dialysis Center in Novaliches.

The  meeting was scheduled to take place days after Duterte ordered the arrest of the owners of the medical facility.

Wellmed owners had denied the allegations made against them by two of their former employees,  Edwin Roberto and Liezel Santos, through a statement issued by their legal firm Gargantiel Ilagan & Atanante.

They said it was Santos and Roberto who were engaged in the fraudulent scheme.
