Duterte to fire another set of officials anew

(Eagle News)–President Rodrigo Duterte on Wednesday, March 13, said he would fire another set of officials anew.

“I’m sorry,” Duterte said in a speech in Cauayan, Isabela.

The President did not elaborate.

In his speech, he, however, railed at corruption in the Bureau of Customs, saying this was precisely the reason why he appointed a military man,  Rey Leonardo Guerrero, as its head.

“Parang aswang ang mga y**a na ito ayaw… Sinabi nang huminto kayo,” he said.

Only recently, the Palace announced Duterte had fired Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office general manager Alexander Balutan due to “serious allegations of corruption.”

The Palace later issued a clarification, saying he had actually resigned.

Balutan came under fire in 2017 after he admitted to spending P6.4 million for a PCSO year-end party.

But Duterte backed him then, saying that it was “OK” if the people were fed.
