Duterte still looking for “best” person for PNP chief post

(Eagle News)–President Rodrigo Duterte on Thursday, Nov. 28, said he has yet to find the country’s Philippine National Police chief.

“Unless I think that I see the very best guy there, you show me,” he said.

“Kayong mga pulis, tell me who is the best… Just give me an honest man, period,” he added.

Lt. Gen. Archie Gamboa is currently the officer in charge of the PNP.

He was designated to the post after Oscar  Albayalde resigned following allegations he intervened in the cases of the 13 policemen behind an irregular drug raid in Pampanga in 2013.

Interior Secretary Eduardo Año has said apart from Gamboa, he has recommended Lieutenant General Camilo Pancratius Cascolan and Police Major General Guillermo Eleazar to the post.
