Duterte signs law requiring free Internet, clean restrooms, lactating stations in transport terminals

(Eagle News) — President Rodrigo Duterte has signed a law requiring clean restrooms and free Internet in the country’s transport terminals.

Under Republic Act 11311 signed on April 17, terminals are also required to have lactating stations for mothers.

The law does not cover deluxe sanitary facilities.

Each day a transport facility does not comply with the clean sanitary facilities,  it will be fined P5,000, and another P5,000 for each day fees from passengers are collected for their use.

If a transport facility fails to provide breastfeeding stations, it will be fined P5,000 per day of its violation.

The fines are subject to review every five years.
