Duterte says he will no longer appoint Faeldon to another gov’t post

(Eagle News)–President Rodrigo Duterte will not be appointing sacked Bureau of Corrections director-general Nicanor Faeldon to a new government post.

In fact, President Duterte said on Tuesday, Sept. 10, that Faeldon has already been hired by a private corporation.

The President made the statement following speculations he would give Faeldon another appointment.

Prior to his stint as BuCor chief, Faeldon was Customs chief until he resigned  following the discovery of P6.8-billion worth of shabu smuggled from China.

Duterte, however, later appointed him to the Office of the Civil Defense, before transferring him to BuCor.

Duterte sacked Faeldon as BuCor director-general following the release of convicts of heinous crimes under the Good Conduct Time Allowance law and the near-release of former Calauan, Laguna Mayor Antonio Sanchez.

Sanchez was convicted of the killing and rape of Eileen Sarmenta and of the killing of her friend Allan Gomez in the 1990s.
