Duterte says he may recommend NFA Council abolition to Congress

(Eagle News) — President Rodrigo Duterte on Tuesday, Sept. 11, said he may recommend the abolition of the National Food Authority Council.

According to Duterte, he may make the recommendation to Congress.

“It has not done any purpose. It only hinders the operation (of the NFA),” Duterte said.

According to Duterte, “we need not have four or five” people who will make the decisions.

He said “one” was enough.

In the same speech, Duterte said NFA administrator Jason Aquino had already asked that he be allowed to step down.

Duterte said he would “scout” for his replacement.
