(Eagle News)–President Rodrigo Duterte on Sunday, July 28, ordered the construction of a clinic in Batanes after the hospital in the province was damaged by successive earthquakes.
President Rodrigo Duterte vowed to provide the P40 million needed for the construction of the clinic during his visit to the province a day after the quakes that killed at least eight people and injured several others.
According to Duterte, he is “not keen on repairing” the damaged hospital as it was “too expensive.”
“..And you are not sure of its durability and viability,” Duterte said.
The quakes took place as the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority led an earthquake drill in preparation for what experts said was the Big One.
