Duterte not discounting possibility of more attacks in PHL following Sultan Kudarat bombings

(Eagle News) — President Rodrigo Duterte is not discounting the possibility of more attacks in the country following the blasts in Sultan Kudarat that left at least five dead.

“There’s a lot of terror attacks going on, not only here but all over the world and my country is no exception. We just had about two explosions in one of the provinces in Mindanao. And we expect more,” Duterte said  during his visit to Israel’s Magen David Adom, the country’s national organization responsible for the emergency, disaster response, pre-hospital care, and blood services.

The first explosion in Isulan took place on Aug. 30, leaving at least three people dead.

The next blast came only a few days later, with two being killed in the incident.

According to Duterte, who is on a four-day visit to Israel, “And I’m sure that your government… Israel government would only be willing to help us,” as he lauded Israel’s disaster response after a simulation.

He said that while “we have a similar thing like that in my city, …it needs a lot of improvement.”

“Of course, the way you handled the response was very important. And I think that we have to improve on that, “ he explained.
