Duterte: Midterm elections could be seen as a referendum on my admin

(Eagle News)—President Rodrigo Duterte on Monday, May 13, acknowledged the midterm elections could be seen as a referendum on his administration.

“Could be taken as one referendum, so that if you agree with me, then you can vote for my candidates or the people I’m supporting these elections. If I am repudiated by the loss of all candidates coming from the Hugpong (ng Pagbabago) slate, that could indicate majority of people ayaw nila ako, madali lang iyan,” he said when asked by a reporter after he cast his vote at the Daniel R. Aguinaldo National High School.

Told about his candidates dominating pre-election surveys, Duterte hinted he was still not taking it easy.

He said this was even if he was not being opposed in the elections.

“Ever since I have been in politics..I would always place it at 50/50 ang odds..It is always a 50 50 proposition,” he said.
