(Eagle News) — “I could never be misinformed.”
This was the response of President Rodrigo Duterte to dismissed Interior Secretary Mike Sueno’s statement the chief executive had been fed wrong information that led to his dismissal on Monday.
“I could never be misinformed. Kaabugado ko misinformed ako,” he told reporters in an ambush interview in Camp General Artemio Ricarte in Puerto Princesa, Palawan, which he visited on Thursday.
“When I make a move, when I fire you dyan mismo, alam ko ang ginagawa ko,” he said.
He reiterated that at the “first whiff of corruption, ang unang singaw lang, maski totoo, babye tayo.”
He said many people could take vacant posts in government.
“Di tayo nagkulang ng talent, bright, honest (people) with integrity,” he said.
Sueno, who was sacked at the end of a Cabinet meeting, said he had not been given due process.
He has denied the corruption allegations against him.
