(Eagle News)–President Rodrigo Duterte is eyeing one Dr. Jaime Cruz as the new PhilHealth president.
Presidential Spokesperson Salvador Panelo made the revelation on Tuesday, June 11, a day after Duterte asked PhilHealth officials to submit their courtesy resignations following reports a medical facility in Quezon City was processing the PhilHealth benefits of deceased patients.
Panelo said the President floated Cruz’s name during Monday’s Cabinet meeting.
Earlier, Senator-elect Bong Go said Duterte, who was “saddened and dismayed” by the incident, wanted a “clean slate” at the PhilHealth management.
“Sa ngayon, plantilla officials muna ang temporary na mamamalakad at maa-assign sila under the Office of the President,” Go said.
